The black versions of these Wendsleydale sheep are quite rare. My research tells me that people who spin wool like them because of the length of the fibres and the fact that the way the ends fade in the sunlight gives the wool interesting qualities.

Be careful though as we once wintered Blackpool Donkeys & I remember vividly seeing one of the donkeys getting hold of a sheep & shaking it vigorously ....was so funny!
