This is my first attempt at low key or should I say my best attempt today but too much light on the base. Tired rough day so quitting here for today. Any and all suggestions appreciated.
This is my wedding day champagne flute. A gift from our Matron of Honor and Best Man.
It will be fun to play around with such a special memento. I love how the top part of the glass looks. Looking forward to more shots! Hope you can put your feet up tonight.
Lovely low key and the tones are right but glass is very hard to photograph as reflects everything :-). I find people of non reflective objects easier :-)
Don/t know a thing about how to do this...but I do like the way the light reflects. You are really do well on your challenges. At some point I will start some. Sounds like you need a small vacation?
@eyesmile I joined to be challenged and you get to say yeah or ney on a challenge. You already have a few skill sets. Jump into the deep end and give it a try.
You appear to have lit this from the front Joan - my experience is that if you wish to show the volume of a transparent object, it is better to light it from the side or from three-quarters behind. Don't be discouraged, you are making progress.
@vignouse Thank you Richard, I figured that out about lighting from the side. I watched an interesting vid this morning one of the things he did was hit it with light just as he took the picture. More to it than that but it has given me an idea.
