A rosey demise by joansmor

A rosey demise

I have an assignment for my get pushed next week of low-key. So I brought a black posterboard and was playing with it tonight. I realize this isn't low=key but I need a picture and it is kinda pretty. And I'm tired and this is it for today. LOL This sight is becoming an obsession.
I tried the low key project a few weeks ago and bombed horribly - you did great :)

Well you're heading in the right direction Joan, you just need to lower the lighting to the point where shape, form and colour are suggested rather than shown. For me, the mix of flowers makes this more difficult as they will reflect the light in different ways.

Like it as is !!

@vignouse Yeah, I knew it wasn't there. I was more playing with my light (my flashlight). Babysteps. Haven't decided what to photograph when I truly try to low-key.

Like this Joan especially where the main pint of light is and then giving the shadows around

@perspectivesimages I like it too, but I have been challenged to do low-key this week so I am playing with light here to get used to shooting in low light. Watch for that later this week but not with rose petals. But that was a good investment as I got three pictures to post from that one rose. LOL

@pjr I put that flashlight I used every where and took many pictures and this was my favorite. I purposely did as you said. I did crop of some petals and babies breath to the left.

@caroljayne I am aware that it is tricky but I really want to stretch myself. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
