I went early 6:30 a.m. to walk at Wal-marts and pick up some groceries. Then on the way home I grabbed some shots. Going by Lake Estes there was snow fog and it made for a neat picture I think.
On Black, Joan, this looks like a piece of art from a century ago! So beautiful! Are those, perhaps, hackmatack trees with the golden branches? (In Nova Scotia, I've learned that they're a type of evergreen that changes color... Very hard wood, too>)
@Weezilou Not hackmatacks they are usually smaller. I think it is the sun that makes these turn yellow. Plus I'll tell you a secret. I was experimenting with a new technique I learned from my Digital Scrapbooking. It's called Light Painting. The light on the green trees is painted in and so isn't most of the light on the trees in the background. The big lit up tree is natural. It isn't a big difference just enough to show the light.
Just gorgeous! The lighting and the mist are beautiful!
Well, looking through your photos, it looks like you've done just about everything! I'd love for you to take one scene and photograph it at 3 different times (like morning, afternoon, evening, or whatever!). If that doesn't work, one object photographed 3 ways - could be angles, different amounts of zoom, with different techniques or effects, etc - you choose. I hope either of those work for you and will be fun this week.
@emrob I love this idea. Will give it a try might even try both as that would be fun. But evening is probably out as how cold it gets so how up presunset.
