Sunrise at the mills - SOOC

My mentor @vignouse run the NF 50 - sooc theme in the month of September. BUt SOOC just isn't my thing but I thought now that it is over I would post a picture sooc and then two edits - both of which are a little over the top but such fun.
@vignouse just to show you my early morning sooc put not nf and not jpeg but I didn't even remove the spot I get.

Well I like all three... but this one gets my vote - I would probably have liked it even better had you pushed the Clarity slider up a bit!

@vignouse but you can't press the clarity slider for sooc. But I have a few others and they will appear some time in my project. I did do a bw version with sc for the light in the windows and on the water. Kind of neat.

@joansmor Nah... but I'm not completely puritan... except when it comes to SC!

I really like this one. Edit #2 was the next favorite

@vignouse Tell me if I am right so I don't waste my time. To get more color or detail in the foreground and sides I need to use a tripod so I can open things up more. Also don't want a lot of grain. I am working on some pictures for a calendar of iconic Sanford shots.

@joansmor You already know the answer! But just to confirm: use a small aperture to get lots of DoF - f/16 would be optimum - and choose the lowest ISO you can, 200 on your camera I think; these two settings together will require a slower shutter speed so, yes, you'll need to use a tripod. To get detail in both the light and dark areas of the image you'll need to bracket your images and blend them... but I guess you're already doing that. This will get the basics right and you can do the fine-tuning in post.
