Diagnosis – Pinched nerve

I used this title so no one gets worried about my picture. I have had a few times where I get a tingling pain in my upper left arm lately and then today after shoveling a little it happened. Then as I was driving to work I got a numb tingling in my hand and lips. Got scared turned back to home. Got my niece to drive me to emergency room. (I know should have gone straight there.) They ran EKG and it was fine. Doctor said he was thinking pinched nerve (because it happened when I picked up something heavy or shoveled snow) but the tingling numbness around my lips concerned him. They wanted to to a Pet Scan. The had to put some Contrast stuff into my veins and the problem was they were having a problem because the veins kept collapsing. (I know now what a pin cushion feel like and I am glad I am not one) Finally they got it right did the contrast stuff and got the Pet scan done. Everything good – which is always a good thing. So diagnosis is pinched nerve. So home resting with muscle relaxers to take and staying home tomorrow. (frigid temps expected). Thanks to my wonderful niece I have everything I need.
