Table with a view, please

While at the Organ Pipe Cactus Monument we took the scenic drive - 21 miles of rough road, takes about 2-3 hours to complete. On a ridge over looking the valley is a lone picnic table- I couldn't resist taking a shot. We didn't stop to eat as it was 97f (36.11c).
36 degrees! And the vegetation still looks green.

@overalvandaan This part of Arizona is not approachable in the summer in my opinion, even now, I'm glad we had the quiet to offset the heat.

@shannejw When the desert blooms, it is worth the trip-sort of.

@jernst1779 The open spaces in Arizona, and there are a lot, have a delicate beauty. The mornings are my favorite.

@golftragic I wonder if they put it there as a marker of some kind, nothing else around. Anyway, sitting at it for a few moments and listening to the nothingness was very calming.

What a wonderful image - the ordinariness of the table contrasts so well with that landscape. :)

@jenp I most definitely recommend this area but don't go after April, its much too hot, triple digit temperatures.
@eudora I just checked at almost 10pm, its 78 with a high tomorrow of 98, I can stay where I am with those temps. I do love the quiet that can be found there but....
