Oh Justin. I love your eyes. Not just because they are beautiful, and not because they are your mother's eyes which I do so adore. I love them for the promise and youth that is so apparent in them. The light and excitement, the fire and energy with which you are filled. You are a blaze where so many kids are just embers. And it is just that which makes you stand out and makes you so difficult sometimes to raise. But I do love you. And I think you'll have an enormous capacity for the same kind of love in you. If there's anything in this life I can do right, it's to ensure this. You must know and understand love. It's the greatest gift any of us will ever be able to give and receive.
