This guy has to be a descendent of one of the greats. Maybe Ponce de Leon? Vasco de Gama? Erik the Red? He is constantly on a quest for discovery, looking high and low for adventure and excitement, mystery and fascination. Diego is a compass with his true north always being that new thing he hasn’t seen or done before. I adore this capture. It’s a “portrait mode” shot only not used for a portrait, and the morning light it caught gives our backyard an otherworldly vibe I straight-up love. I really need to take more shots like this. Whether it is the camera’s mode, the morning light, the subject, the location or all of the above, it’s something definitely worth trying to capture again!
