And frozen fingers as well. Mostly because I was defrosting the hens' water and I now remember I haven't emptied the drinker again and I'll be down there with a kettle again tomorrow. Hopefully it's been a productive Governor day and evening to make up for a totally useless dog walk on The Gogs. I went that way as I needed to collect some contact lenses but it was immediately apparent that the off lead dog walk was very muddy underfoot and I really struggled to get Monty to walk up the hill instead. I capitulated and veered off on to the off lead part again only to find it completely impassable. Some other walkers told me that the other direction was covered in really hazardous ice patches so I gave up and retreated to the car. I think I'm paranoid about The Gogs after I made Monty walk round when his disc had slipped and he was in agony. As he'd had a bit of a fall down the stairs (which he's not allowed to go up) after I inadvertently trod on his tail while chasing him down, I was a bit nervous of pushing him. Appears to be fine now though of course.
Also a very bad day for will-power - I ate a whole mint Aero on the way home.
Stinging nettles. The bane of my grandchildren's lives but they do look very smart here with their icy lace edgings. I could devour a mint Aero now. Thank goodness I'm too far away from shops to put my willpower to the test
Oh. I would kill for a mint aero.......I am still on the clementines but not a patch on chocolate! A kettle of boiling water is essential in this weather. When I think of the horrors of all the kettles of water we had to use to thaw out cow drinking troughs I think we have got off lightly! I have been to the opticians today too with Harrys driving glasses, the glass dropped out. Lovely frosty nettles...no stinging there!
