I did a circular route in to town with Monty today because I wanted to go to White Stuff. He is always very keen to go in there because they have, on occasion, given him dog biscuits. I took my Jiffy lemon with me as an anti-barking device because ladies in clothes shops can be very startled indeed by a sudden loud woof. I didn't quite have enough hands to take a photo of M sitting very nicely amongst a rack of smalls.... We wended our way back home along Jesus Lane which was a nice change - I might go to the painting exhibition - it looks interesting.
A beautiful day but rather stressful as A was at his portfolio presentation thing for art college. Proud mummy time though we'll have to wait for the result.
Your stories are as interesting as your photos as I have noted before. You are allowed to take dogs into a clothes store?? We have a dog policy that there are no dogs allowed within the town's central hub. Just as well as some really doubtful characters love to parade their pit bull type dogs!
@maggiemae not generally although I suspect he's allowed in more shops than I know about - this particular shop encourages them. They also have a man space with drinks and biscuits (nearly snaffled by Monty on his way down the stairs) and a tent for kids. Can't think of anywhere where they are banned from towns - it can be quite slow taking him because he gets petted.
What a fabulous composition! So elegant and timeless (except for the exhibition dates).
And a big 'well done' shout out to Adam!! You have every right to be a proud mom!!
Hats off to White Stuff! The first thing I ever bought from White Stuff was in the shop in Oxford......I remember it so well. We were on one of our very rare holidays & having a tour round after visiting The Royal Show in Warwickshire . We called in to see my sister who had just had her son Edward so it must be around twenty five years ago. There was an advert for milk which featured The White Stuff ...white frothy milk round the mouth, we were attracted to the name because if that!
I ramble on but am so impressed the let well behaved Monty in the shop! Did you buy anything I wonder?
You have every right to be proud mummy....enjoy every minute!
Thank you for telling us the story behind this picture. You will have to try again with Monty when he is more likely to sit still. My dogs LOVE visiting stores :)
Ahhhh missed photo opportunities, we all have lots of them. I hope monty wasn't embarrassed in a ladies clothes shop, most men shuffle around uncomfy.
a very cambridge shot
