I was up early to take Adam and his art portfolio in to school and then return an item to M&S. It was really quite a foggy start but by the time I got in to town it was all a bit disappointing. Also I looked down at my shopping bag and realised that it was John Lewis not M&S and JL doesn't open till 9 am so I had a bit of time to kill. I thought perhaps the open spaces around King's might be a bit atmospheric - they were just a bit dull but term has finished so the streets were quiet and it's not often that there isn't a car parked in front of King's gatehouse. It's rather splendid when you get it in full view.
Big news! Adam's team won and they are off to the National Championships at the Olympic Park - last four teams!
I don't think I've ever looked at it from this straight on viewpoint before and certainly never without people. It's quite magnificent and I like the symmetry of it.
So Adam lives to play another match...good for them! So glad they have kept that red post box in front of that beautiful place ! I took a photo of a really old rather nice horse drinking trough in Hornby & plonked next to,it was a litter bin...rather spoilt the whole scene really!
