The hens are a little confused by all the gardening going on and the visits we are making to 'their' compost heap with piles of weeds. Some good jobs done today - all a little overdue but I'm feeling inspired at the moment and it's good exercise. We are planning some reorganisation so we can get to the garden sheds without having to climb into the chicken run - they will miss some of their more obscure hiding places I suspect.
Your property sounds large with a hen coop in it but maybe narrow if you have to climb in to get to the sheds! She is a little beauty - hope she's got more than beauty to give!
@maggiemae she's a few years old now but lays us 2-3 very dark eggs a week. The garden is 200ft long but only 30 ft wide so yes - narrow. We are going to change the orientation of the run but could do to take a shed down and I'm worried about what might be nesting underneath!
The lovely Betty, she looks well & healthy in the prime of her life! Surprising how fond you get of the little dears! Sounds like you are doing good work in the gareden....far too cold & damp for me still but I notice 22 deg in London tomorrow! About 10deg here.
