Summer seemed to return briefly and with it an attack of laziness. I'm reading Elena Ferrante's books about youngsters growing up in poor neighbourhoods of Naples in the 1950's. The books are very slow really with not a great deal happening but I'm loving them - the social mores of the young men (smack anybody who glances at your sister etc) and the role of education in social mobility combined with the difficulties that come with moving into a different social group are beautifully portrayed.
Well I'm not impressed with the socks & the flip flops ....a rather odd combination! Beautiful reflections & swans...if they turn around they wouldn't be impressed! Book sounds fascinating, a complete different subject. I am loving Four Fires.
@happypat hadn't noticed that! It's because the shoes are fixed into the boats I think. When a boat sinks they have to get their feet out quick. My friend with a false leg had to abandon it in a boat once!
