The new 'anti-illegal' punting fence has transformed this part of the river. A lovely day to enjoy a trip. I had a double whammy of socialising in the evening - first a quick sober drink in the Fort St George with Lucy and Malcolm and then a bit too much wine in The Old Spring with Hazel. I forgot, in between all this, to put the hens so but luckily could message Rachel - it's going to be a shock at the end of the month when both offspring have gone and I have to remember my own chores.
Offspring doing chores! Six year now has his own daily chore. He has to clear the table after meals. But he now gets his own pocket money to cover essential expenses! He was awarded an extra 20p for remembering to ask for his ear drops most nights when I've forgotten. I told him that he was being responsible and he asked what that meant. I'm hoping for as much maturity when there is a 1 on front of the 6.
@newbank Good lad! Adam took himself off to earn proper money waitering at 16 so now he clears the tables obsessively in a silver service type manner. I don't get many other chores done though (3 days of leaving the Hoover outside his room before it was used) but he is at least not making the house untidy when he's at work.
