Adam has acquired the necessary student frugality but tells us that he succumbed to buying popcorn chicken from here (£4) and it was delicious. It used to be a petrol station in Shoreditch but now refuels humans. We had an interesting walk back to his accommodation after visiting a slightly more expensive venue for his birthday dinner. The streets were buzzing with people out socialising all round the area which means you can feel pretty comfortable after dark. We had a quick peep at the new 'ping pong nightclub' (from the street - invitation only night) and headed home, leaving him to party with his friends.
It's interesting to see how many former gas stations are being turned into other things..... restaurants, etc. We see it over here too. Have even eaten at several now restaurants, former gas stations.
@aglennc Yes - couldn't help think that I never see anywhere around there to buy petrol! Anyway - they are building the cycle superhighway close by instead!
Food places like this always look busy! I suppose humans always want feeding but cars can be left at home. Popcorn chicken, I noticed today in the crisp isle in Booths you can buy popcorn of any flavour...really seems to have taken off. Adam will be loving all the buzz!
Cool nighttime capture.....love the fact that you expect Adam to be having a good time at the university!! These are definitely his years of exploration, and hopefully he will be making the most of it!
