I've been resisting posting anything autumnal until after the summer holidays finish but it just couldn't be avoided on our walk on the Gog Magog hills this morning. I took photos of blackberries, haws, sloe berries, elderberries, rose hips and miscellaneous poisonous looking things! However I failed - I thought I had some good shots but was disappointed when I uploaded them. So this is from yesterday - there is an elegant little iron bridge 'Sheep's Green Bridge' over the Cam in Newnham. It has 'No cycling' signs all over it which are universally ignored and probably have been since it was built - I'm guessing it's about a hundred years old and recently had ramps added to make cycling over it easier! These hawthorn berries are at the entrance to a walled area with a platform used for swimming. I've taken a couple of pics from the bridge towards this area before. http://365project.org/judithg/365/2011-05-23 http://365project.org/judithg/extras/2011-04-20
Lovely red & green ! The berries this year are very abundant ..hope we aren't in for another cold winter !! Great focus Judith & how English to have no cycling signs then put ramps up to make it easier !!
arrhhhh...autumn time for the melancholy madness..its only cure is Chardonnay....sigh..do we really have to have autumn so soon..i was just getting used to working in shorts...
great shot - I took sloe berries, rosehips and these little red berries on my walk yesterday (and decided not to post becasue it felt too autumnal!!) great shot - love the lighting
@sparkle Yeah - sorry!! @phil_howcroft I've got lots of green ones too- either it will be a windowsill ripening event or fried green tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe!! (Or I think my mum makes chutney - shame I don't like chutney...)
Def autumnal, red and green almost Christmassy.......arrrrrrggggghhh! @shanne We've had Michaelmas daisies out for a couple of weeks now ....everything is out of sorts! @happypat I know it is a myth that lots of berriees mean a hard winter....surely it means we had good sun and rain to ripen and swell the berries? Who knows but there are plenty of them. Great shot whatever Judith! Glad you like my Geordie Girl song!!
nice berries girl.
The air and mornings are very 'autumn' at the moment...it's been damp and a tad misty here ....my tomatoes aren't red yet, I'm panicking !!!
