We went to the Botanical Garden today and got some nice pink flower shots, but I was also getting tormented by the elusive Tui (sometimes known as the Parson Bird) .. He gives himself away by his beautiful song and is usually hard to get a clear shot as he hides in the branches of the tree's .. pretty pleased with this shot..
So pleased to see this Julz out dog is named after the Tui bird but I have never seen more than a rushing glimpse of one in NZ. He is rather a handsome fellow....love his little tufts & speckled shoulder.
@happypat Pat I remembered your dog was Tui, A friend of mine has just published a very good little book that is a diary of a Tui nest with eggs hatching to fledglings .. It is called Tui a nest in the bush.. By Meg Lipscombe. She is a photographer of some note and it is a lovely coffee table book.. drop some hints your family may hunt it out for you.. Craig Potton Publishing... @andreajoy you may be interested in this to Andrea.. she lives not far from you.. Thank you for your comments
@paulaw Thanks Paula.. Tui is a native of NZ.. and a real icon.. male and female look the same though female a little smaller, they are nectar feeders and really make the most of it when there favourite trees etc are in flower.. these ones were feeding on bottle brush trees.. have a great weekend yourself.. looks like your weather is improving..
