Hundertwasser's Toilets.... Kawa Kawa..

These are the fantastic Public Toilets of Kawa Kawa.. designed and built by the Friedensreich Hundertwasser in 1997 and were the last large thing he created before his death in 2000.. they are a real credit to the town ...

Fabulous collage. I didn't get chance to take any photos inside the toilets when I was there because there was a huge queue of tourists from the tour bus.
It really is a work of art.

I remember seeing these on a TV program, absolutely fantastic, would love to see them. Somewhat surreal experience to wander around a public loo taking photos though!

I saw the Hundred was ser house in Vienna and took photos of a lot of the details but not the toilets. It is a remarkable holistic type of architecture and I might even get a chance to see it when in N Zealand at the start of 2017 This is a great collage

I stopped at some toilets in Kawakawa expecting them to be these ones - I was disappointed as I was in 'normal' toilets!!! Will try to find these ones next time!
