This morning I went down to our fig tree in hope that I would beat the wasp's up... I didn't.. so had to pick them very carefully .. This tree is very old and most years we don't get much off it as the birds and wasp's beat us to them.. but picked a pretty large bag full..
The Fig Tree was planted by an old 'Hermit' that lived in a little shack just by this tree.. he had a pretty good view even if he didn't have much of anything else. We are guessing that the tree will be well over 100 years old..
While the flat's below us were surrounded with fog we had a glorious morning...
Nice fog, beautiful light, lovely tree. Nice story.
We had an old fig tree here but sadly it did not survive the felling of our large gum trees as one of them fell not where the tree-feller intended. And the tree-feller was not my dearly beloved.
So much fog, it looks like a carpet! Glad you managed to pick some figs, I have been told they are lovely picked warm from the tree but I was put off them by school dinners many years ago.
@happypat They are beautiful warm from the tree and the mooshier the better... I have been making jam ( fig'n' ginger) and fig, apple and walnut paste.. to be used with cheese and crackers..
