This week the Aon Maadi Cup is being held.. It is a Secondry Schools National competiion that is held every year.. This year it is held at Lake Karipiro near Cambridge (NZ) so easy for this proud Nana to go a watch ..
Today there was a march through town and a welcome and then it was back to the water to do some more practice.
My Granddaughter Kenna who is 15 is rowing in a Quad and an under 15 double ( that is 4 oars, pairs is 2 oars).
She has two races tomorrow so we are hoping the conditions will be favourable and all goes well.. Storms are predicted .... but we will worry about that when it happens.
I know this lake, we once went on a cruise type boat, all to our selves & prosecco! I remember it as a very pretty Lake edged with some lovely properties. Great to watch Kenna doing her stuff...a very proud nana indeed! Hope she cracks it & wins!
What a scenic spot to watch from. Good luck to Kenna and her team mates. And I'm sure there will be breaks in the weather. 4 seasons in 1 day after all!
