Tui in the Prunus Companulata...

Yesterday one of my 'spotter's' rang to say that the Cherry Tree on his property that the native bird Tui just loves to feed on the nectar at this time of year was starting to flower.. so today as the sky was blue and the sun was shining I went over to see if I could get a shot... But they are very busy and spend alot of time dashing in and out of the tree.. and alway's hiding behind the twiggy branches... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99RWTw39IEQ here is a you tube clip of the bird song of the Tui ...
There's one on our property, tormenting me. It won't it out in the open at all

Fab tui - amazing how much colour they have when they just look black from a distance.

Great image. So good that neighbours and friends know your interest in photography and let you know what's happening.

You have flower buds! Daughter in law has daffodils up their new drive too! Spring is coming! Pretty colours! We miss our dog called Tui!

I like this shot, loved the tuis when we were in NZ. Wairaki golf course has little (model) tuis as tee-markers.
