Hoods landing... Cabbage tree...

Another shot I took yesterday morning on my quick trip down to the river ... I love the form of our native Cabbage Tree ( Cordyline Australis) and I was lucky I was able to 'hide' the sun behind the branches.. the rushes make an interest forground interest... My yesterdays shot..

@jamibann It is also known in Maori as Ti Kouka .. and the centre of the leave 'bunches' were used as a source of vegetable when other veg would not grow..They like swampy spots .. I have a couple in my garden ..
