Past this scene yesterday on our Sunday drive.. This is part of a very large farm known as Limestone Downs.. It covers 3,219 hectacres with 320 hectacres being the dairy platform, the rest of the land is used for a sheep and beef unit, 400 hectacres is in native bush and being replanted. There is also a Manuka Honey trial going on. These cows are looking pretty happy grazing on the top of the hill in the sunshine..
I think I might have been round this area, is it anywhere near the Nicau Cafe? Ant & Jo used to take us for rides out around there when they lived up there. Love the cows decorating the hill & a bit of that black sand showing! Fave for that whole area....We miss the cafe & these pizzas! Too far these days! Shame because Ant & Jo were very friendly with lots of people there & in the cafe.
