Today when I called into see my friend.. she took me down to see her Son's house.. It's on the move tonight..
They have the best view in town and live right on the beach, but their little house is now too small for their little family so they bought an empty section, cut the house in half..( that bought tears to many eyes) and later today the two truck and trailor units have got into position and in the dark of night will move across town to it's new spot..
Once section is cleared up they will be building a new house ( Son is a builder) So looking forword to seeing the progress...
I was a little annoyed with myself as I always have my camera with me ... except today, so had to use my phone..
Wow, that is so interesting. Could never do that with the types of homes that are mostly built in South Africa. Ours are mostly brick and mortar on foundations dug deep into the ground.
@dide Saw the plans today and not dissimalar to this ... just alot bigger .. and master bedroom upstairs.. thought it was nice to pay homage to the original ..
I think it is great they can give new life to the house at another location! My problem is the opposite... our view is what I always dreamed of... been here 35+ years but now we have more house than we need... but I can't leave my view to downsize.
Nothin* wrong with this shot, that what phones are for Julz! I had forgotten this thing about selling houses & moving them on trailers, I was really surprised when I saw this the first time. Great idea though! Recycling big style NZ,
