Today I attended a funeral for a 'Grand Lady'... She was just a few months off 110 years old.. I have known Beryl for about 20 years when I started delivering Meals on Wheels to her.. She has lived in her own home by herself until the last 12 month where she moved into a Nursing Home.
Beryl was born in 1909 along with her identical twin Sister.. unfortunatly their Mother died in Childbirth, they had 3 other siblings.. Their Father did remarry ..
Beryl and Sister Tilly both celebrated their 100th birthday together but Tilly died at the age of 102.
Beryl was always interested in Currant affairs and often commented when we visited her with her meal, one day when we were have some 'unseasonal ' weather she said 'I blame Global Warning'... I think she was probably right .. lol..
Beryl not only outlived her Siblings but also her Husband by over 20 years, her Son and Daughter-in-Law.
She has never driven, smoked, drank alchol, or flown in an Aeroplane..
Sweet tribute. Oh my, all the changes she had seen over the years. So wonderful that she was so interested in current affairs. I love the picture of her and her sister.
Wow that is an amazing life she has led! How wonderful she was so interested in current affairs, an enquiring mind is wonderful thing! Quite a sheltered life in modern day terms but she wouldn’t miss what she had never experienced. A long & contented life! RIP Beryl.
