From my 'Beach walk' the other day .. I drove up the very bumpy road to the cliff lookout .. This is the mouth of the Waikato River where it empties into the Tasman Sea after leaving the waters of Lake Taupo 425 Km's away .. the bar is just to the right of this shot where some days it is calm enough to cross the bar to go fishing where some good catches of snapper, through to game fish like Marlin can be caught . Nestled in the base of the hills over the river is the little sea side village of Port Waikato which is very popular for the local surfers...
A beautiful place you live in Julz....interesting for me to see the mouth of that great river, the only river I know properly in NZ. My family have lived in various proximity to that river so it’s good to see it’s end! This water has thundered through the Huka Falls near our youngest son & out at your end!
