Today is a dark day in NZ with a horrible terrorist attack in Christchurch ... We think of NZ being a safe country ..
I decided to go and get a shot of people having fun on our local beach.. a family group with two young children and two girls with a little girl .. a man walking his dog.. all having a good time.. in the wide open space of our black sand beach ...
Start a love train, love train
People all over the world (all the world now)
Join hands (love ride)
That's a happier scene on such a dreadful day for New Zealand. Such a terrible attack in my hometown of Christchurch. Thinking of my loved ones in Christchurch - and all those who have been touched in any way by this senseless violence.
Just woken up to the terrible news. So shocked and sad. I always felt NZ was one of the few safe havens in this world. Stay strong NZ.
You have captured a beautiful scene.
Today's news is a shock for us on this side of the Ditch, so it must be ultra worse for you all in NZ. Words fail me. I feel that you are family to us, and am inconsolable.
As this is a photography project, I must add, Julia that I like your low POV and leading lines in this shot
Words escape me in regards to the shocking news, that is all over my TV, yet unfortunately in your backyard. My heart aches for you, New Zealand and all it's people, yet really it does not stop there, because in a global world the ripples are felt hard and far from the initial impact.
As Ethel says, this is a photography project, so I wish to add that I love your choice to see the beauty in the world right now. Your photo is beautiful, I love how the leading lines take your eyes through the image towards the green hills and people in the distance enjoying family time together.
Not even 5:47 am here as I am posting. I think no country is free from these acts of terror. We just have to share our love and hope in the end we win.
I forgot WWM day , completely forgot, I’m all out of kilter here! Such a terrible thing to wake up to this morning, I could scarcely believe that such bad things could happen in your beautiful country. Our thoughts are with you all.
@julzmaioro Yes it certainly brings it home much more when you have family living there, thankfully both were out on farms at the time. That guy was a serious threat to humanity! 😘
Wonderful photo Julz, this is NZ! I'm still in shock about what happened in Christchurch, and it's still nightly news on the TV over here. I am impressed to see all the good news stories coming out of it at least, and the quick gun reform laws already in the making.

I’m so sorry about your country’s tragedy.
