Today a friend and I went on a tour of the Awhitu Peninsula on the hunt for Pohutukawa Flowers (NZ Christmas tree's) unfortunately we were a few days too late.. The tree's are all around this area are huge and gnarley and this time of the year covered with their crimson flowers..
