Giant Macrocarpa

I didn't take this shot as that's me looking like a garden gnome. This huge Macrocarpa tree is in the grounds of the Brooks homestead on the Manukau Peninsula. The homestead was built around 1878 so possibly this tree could be that old as well.

Apparently it is the biggest macrocarpa in NZ and the largest single stemmed tree in the world! A great image all round.
