Turtle and Habu Islands by jyokota

Turtle and Habu Islands

As young children on our annual family car trip all the way to the very north of the island, we always named the rock islands for the living creatures we thought they represented. The habu is the poisonous snake we dreaded. We hoped it never caught up with the turtle, which were huge swimming creatures in the ocean.
I hope the Habu wan't real but in mythology it means a lot!

It sounds as if you enjoyed scaring yourselves with stories about the animals! What fun!
