out shopping

My get-pushed challenge was take street photos including people I don't know, thanks to Rachel withey @rachelwithey. I actually spent a sleepless night anticipating this as its outside my comfort zone, maybe I'm just a woos and should just rock up and shoot away when I see someone I want to photograph, as my husband said I can always offer to delete the photo if they object, ' oh but they might break your camera if it pisses them off ... I studied up a little and found out I should use the smallest aperture I can, use autofocus and wide angle. Anyhow as it turned out I went to town for all of 10 mins to do some supermarket shopping. I slung my camera around my neck and just shot without looking through the viewfinder, so people were looking at me thinking is she or isn't she, I could cope with that. Two things caught my eye, the tourists on the seat eating icecreams and txting, and the lady wearing the oddball ensemble, and luckily, in spite of my spray and pray technique those were the two shots which I thought had some merit so thought I might as well put them both on. Rachel this is something I will work on and I will try to remember to tag you if I manage to get something worthwhile. Thanks for the push.
@rachelwithey Hi Rachel, what do you think?

Good on you Karlene! This is out of my comfort zone too, so I can appreciate what you went through to get your shots! :)

Nice shots! You can also sit with the camera in your lap. And then read something while you are shooting away. If you put it on timer, you don't even have to click.

Excellent. The lady in the purple jacket came out really well.

Well done... Not something I have been brave enough to try yet!

really love the walking lady - i missed the opportunity to take 4 cyslists sitting outside a bar this morning up done up in fab cycling gear just because i didn't know how to approach them - regret it now

Good for you. I find it really difficult too. I particularly like the shot with the trolley and the four people sitting down all of whom have their arms at the same angle. Might look good cropped that one so you can see them even clearer.
I think we've been partnered up again for next week. I'm very happy to exchanges challenges again. Is that ok with you?

Well done, I totally agree with you thoughts, I just don't do this type of photography - good on you - you did really well.

I like both shots. I like the blur of the walking lady. I like the composition and the perspective of the other shot.

@rachelwithey I kept the trolley in the photo because the sign above it says something about phone shopping being the next big thing since the trolley and the trolley is empty and everybody is txting at the supermarket these days, didn't notice this at the time but hey it's there. I get attached to these kinds of things in my pics, my son (@mrr ) did an edit for me which is more of a closeup of the people so he agrees with you there. and yes I am fine with pushing each other again this week, have to put my thinking cap back on...

@gozoinklings oh I have many shots in my mind like this, just the other day there was a little girl in a pink ballet outfit playing in the fountain, I had left my camera in the car, darn it

I use the touch screen to take shots of my dad, cause he doesn't like his photo taken at all. I have a few good ones he doesn't know I have.
