This shrub is a NZ native which is endangered in the wild but because of it's wonderfully showy flowers is popular as a cultivated plant. I grew this from seed and these are the first set of flowers. Tuis, and bellbirds love them. ( Wendy and Jean, you won some of these in the GPC raffle, how are they doing?)
Interesting specimen. I've not seen these before.

Beautiful looking flower ... well capture. I like the inclusion of the buds too. Must be a spectacular looking plant in full flower.
