@imnorman people go out in sea kayaks once in a while, but it is a big leap from the mainland, there are reportedly endangered skinks on there, so the conservation people poisoned a murmuration of starlings about 25 years ago, which was sad but the skinks have introduced predators on the mainland, new zealand has many such vexed issues.
