the koura pool

i moved some twigs and such to take this photo and a koura (native freshwater crayfish ) started climbing the rocks to hide away from me, i have never seen one before, i thought it was an eel at first , it seemed really big, http://www.doc.govt.nz/nature/native-animals/invertebrates/crayfish-koura/
How fabulous to see that. I love the composition of your photo.

My first reaction to seeing this when it opened was a smile. I think that must mean it is a good thing.

Sometimes I think the best photos are the ones that we cannot shoot. Understand the fascination!
