Peeling

I wanted to do something with either a window pane or a doorway today, so at lunch I went off in search of something interesting. I spotted this building on Main Street in Warren almost at the intersection of Market Street. The paint on the entire building is peeling pretty bad, so there may be additional photo opportunities here. The doorway, though, which is recessed from the front of the building, really stood out. The contrast between the color of the building, the color of the door, and the dark colors on the step really intrigued me.

My post processing exercise continues to trial Topaz Adjust, this time running it through a strong detail filter and then adjusting the exposure and color curves a bit to improve contrast. Back in Photoshop, I applied a 32% opacity to a photocopy filter using color burn as the blend mode. That filter does a great job of emphasizing the lines without changing the color or texture of the photo. I added a bit of saturation and made a level adjustment to complete the image. The color of the building in the photo is truly the building's color. That was not modified in any way.
