This nice, rustic looking home and shed are along Route 114 in Barrington. I wanted to try out my new 16-35mm lens, so it seemed like a nice place to do it. The scene's a bit busier than I'd have liked, and I tried it out in several different styles, including a monochrome blue, a black and white, a monochrome brown, and just a traditional photo. I was in the mood for some creativity tonight, though, so I kept falling back to this HDR style image. I'm not sure why, but it's the one that kept grabbing my attention, so I went with it.
Post processing involved using the Spicefy filter in Topaz Adjust. I modified a number of settings there to really tone down the somewhat blotchy effect it had in parts of the photo. A saturation adjustment corrected the overly bright tones, and I added a sandstone background texture. A magenta photo filter added a pleasing hue.
