In Hot Pursuit02 September 2012Lincoln, Rhode IslandThis was a concept shot that really didn't quite turn out the way I'd hoped. The location is the Blackstone Valley Bike Path in the Lonsdale section of Lincoln. The problem is the height of the bushes lining the bike path. I was really hoping to show all the wetlands in the background with a couple of bikers racing by. The bikers came out just fine - that's the type blur I was hoping for - but the wetlands are hidden by the border bushes. What makes this spot so interesting is that the wetlands are on ground that was once the Lonsdale Drive-In. The drive-in closed over a decade ago and they converted the huge parking area into a wetlands. Today, the only trace of the drive-in is the large sign at the entrance; a sign that I will feature in another photo before this year is out. In any case, I did manage to catch a couple of cyclists speeding down the bike path, and perhaps that in itself is a good story. It's just not the story I was hoping to tell today.Post processing started in Topaz Adjust. I applied a brilliant warm filter as the base. From there I adjusted the adaptive exposure, contrast, strength, detail boost, and adaptive saturation sliders. I also applied a levels adjustment in PSE.
