Two Swans a Swimming

Today was another cold, windy day that kept people indoors. It's amazing how colder weather in the winter brings folks out, but when we have these brisk days heading into spring, folks hunker down and hibernate. For today's photo, I went to Lincoln Woods hoping to find some type of interesting people shot. All I found, though, were a couple of mute swans paddling along. I followed them for about a half mile, taking photos along the way. It was this shot with the stump in the frame that worked as intended, though. For the record, I did try this as a black and white. It was too busy with insufficient grey-tone contrast for it to work, though.

Post processing started with a brilliant warm filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, brightness, and adaptive saturation. A slight levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version on Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-mwDcWrP/0/XL/2013%2003%2015_0044%202%20copy-XL.jpg
Love the gorgeous colours!
