Multitasking by kannafoot

Multitasking

With the temperature hovering around 60 degrees and no wind today, I headed to India Point Park for my photo. I immediately spotted this young lady lying on the grass, reading and listening to her iPod simultaneously. Somehow, I've never mastered the art of reading while music was playing directly into my ears, but in this age of multitasking that is now the norm rather than the exception. In any case, she readily agreed to be today's "photo a day" subject and immediately went back to her book. She did pause momentarily to look up at me and ask, "You don't want me to look up at you, do you?" She seemed pleased that I just wanted her to continue doing what she was doing when I arrived.

Post processing started with a brilliant warm filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, and contrast. In PSE I added a levels adjustment. This was one of those rare cases where I preferred color to the black and white version. There was insufficient contrast for the b&w conversion to make it a pleasing image.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-zzThw9J/0/XL/2013%2004%2008_0019%20copy-XL.jpg
