I went to the Blackstone River on School Street for today's photo, hoping to get some photos of the fisherman that typically line the shore. This is about the time menhaden start swimming upriver, and there are typically numerous fishermen catching the menhaden to use as bait for larger fish. Unfortunately, the water is still too warm, so there was nothing exciting happening on the river.
This golden retriever and the two gentleman having lunch caught my attention. They came here to enjoy a quiet lunch and were quickly spotted by this goldie. She kept walking up to them begging for food, and her owner kept calling her back. Her look in this photo says it all. She's looking back at her owner, but you can see from her expression that she would much rather be sharing their picnic lunch.
Post processing started with a simple pop filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
Poor Goldie! I have one dog who is a beggar and the other you have to beg to eat (we had feed her to get her to eat)... You captured her wanting expression quite well!
