The Littlest Dancer by kannafoot

The Littlest Dancer

I went to the Indian Powwow at the Roger Williams National Memorial today. Tribes from across North America were represented, and there was even a representative from the islands in the West Pacific. Today's photo shows a mother and daughter pair dancing in the circle during a woman's only dance. The young girl was clearly a veteran of Powwows and was extremely energetic.

Post processing started with a simple pop filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and protect highlights. A copy of that layer was made and brought back into Topaz Adjust. To that layer I applied a soft light filter and then darkened the background using brightness, contrast, and adaptive exposure. Back in PSE I applied a layer mask to that layer and using the brush tool I masked out the soft focus and darkening on the young girl. A slight levels adjustment was added to the overall image.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-vWmKQvK/0/XL/2013%2009%2028_0273%20copy-XL.jpg
