I went to the Ronald McDonald House AMGEN 5K road race in Providence this morning and took a series of photos at the 2-mile mark. Mid-way through the pack, the large digital clock they had stationed at this spot suffered a battery failure. The old time tried-and-true method still worked, though. Here's one of the race officials standing at the deuce calling out splits as the runners passed. It definitely brought back memories of my own racing days when there were no digital timers on the course.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment and a sepia photo filter were added in PSE.
