I wasn't sure what I wanted to photograph when I set out for my daily photo. There was some occasional rain, but it wasn't consistent enough to make either a rainy street photography scene or a night scene in the rain practical. Both would have been nice, but I couldn't depend on the rain. Instead, I did a loop out through Chepachet and Glocester, just to see if anything struck my fancy. Coming back through Smithfield, I notice this nice layer of ground fog hovering above Waterman Lake. The house on the banks coupled with the reflections of the bare trees provided a perfect setting. There's something eerie, mysterious, foreboding in today's photo.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, protect highlights, and color sensitivity sliders. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
