Hanging Out Between Classes
21 January 2014 -- 21/365
Providence, Rhode Island
I went downcity for some street photography at lunch, and I decided to walk up to Benefit Street before circling back to where I'd parked. There are some very interesting store fronts that date to the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and I stopped to photograph one of the more interesting lunch places that just happened to be next door to the building in today's photo. As I continued on, the Rhode Island School of Design student in today's photo started waving for a photo. Naturally, I obliged. The three of them had stopped for a coffee and were just hanging around before their next class.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
@taffy Thanks, Taffy. I've been trying to capture those photos that will one day have a nostalgic feel. @tryingforsighs Thanks, Rachel. Give it another 50 years or so... @tasian Thanks, Ken. I agree about the bike. It was needed to complete the overall balance. @cejaanderson Thanks, Jane. I'm convinced I live in a state of hams. LOL The number of people that cooperate with street photographers here amazes me.
