First Signs of Spring

I went downcity for a bit of street photography today. The temperature was still below freezing, but the wind didn't have that winter bite to it. Walking though Kennedy Plaza, I noticed that the food trucks have returned after their winter hibernation. More importantly, the hot dog street vendors are back. When it comes to leading indicators for spring, that ranks right up there with spotting robins on your front lawn. (Or, after this winter, just spotting your front lawn.) For the record, the hot dog was delicious. There's really only one way to make a hot dog taste better than one bought from a street vendor, and that's to buy one inside Fenway Park.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and boost black. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
@justaspark On the vocab... Remember, I live in Rhode Island. What they're called in other parts of the US can be dramatically different. For instance, when you used y'all in your photo, that's a Southern term. (You used it correctly, btw. Y'all is ALWAYS plural.) It's not a term used in the North.
@kannafoot Yeah, I know that from Germany. For example what you would call a roll we in the North call Brötchen, Berliners call it Schrippe and Bavarians call it Semmel. :D
My English is really mixed already - most of my language is British since we learned that in school, but because of my recent experiences with socal media etc. I'm now also wildly throwing together American and Australian words. (I recently did an Internet test which said my accent is half British and half North American though. Idk if that makes sense. :D)
@aponi I'm a true Rhode Islander, Kathryn. I wear short sleeved shirts all winter! LOL
@justaspark The company I work for is owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland. We have a lot of folks here from Edinburgh. Winston Churchill was right when he described the US and the UK as "two nations separated by a common language." LOL I have NO idea what the Scots are saying when they talk!
@cejaanderson Thanks, Jane! Only a few weeks away there. It's funny, though. Sitting at a baseball game when it's 60° out is MUCH colder than sitting at a football game when it's 5°. Don't ask me why, but having done both, I know it's true! (For the record, a hot dog tastes just as good under either condition.)
Cool capture of the hot dog man (no idea what you call him :D)!
I'm sure there will be a few ice cream trucks soon!
