Twin Silos

Lincoln, Rhode Island

I wasn't able to get out for a photo at lunch today, so after dinner tonight I went down Great Road in Lincoln for this photo of historic Chase Farm. The land was purchased in 1661 by Thomas Arnold and sold to the Chase family in 1867. From that period until 1965 it operated as a dairy farm providing door to door milk delivery to the community. The property today is part of the Chase Farm Park and is a central attraction in the Great Road Historic District.

Post processing started with a neutral greyscale filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2014/i-4x8dVLp/0/XL/2014%2003%2024_0006%20copy-XL.jpg
Very pretty scene. Ron, what do you think of this new format? I looked on your smugmug, and this time the difference was not as big as before.

@cejaanderson Absolutely hate the new format. I really liked the ability to see a bunch of postings on a single screen. Now seeing just one per screen is driving me nuts. There are several folks on my friends list that upload in batches, and this new format destroys that experience. He did improve the picture quality, but in the process he broke the overall experience. I'll likely not continue on this site when my 3rd year ends.

Excellent scene...love the pillars and the fence posts and the silos...they all work so well together.
