Beach Trash

I was originally planning to go downcity for some street photography at lunch. After several meetings this morning, though, it quickly evolved - or should I say, it quickly devolved - into a day that demanded ice cream. Hot Fudge Sundae kind of ice cream, to be exact. The only seasonal place that's open right now, though, is in Bullocks Point, so that's the way I went. I stopped at Haines Point (which is close to the ice cream place) hoping there would be people around, but sadly, the park is still empty. I noticed this bit of trash lying on the beach, though, and thought it would make an interesting composition. Whether it was tossed here or washed up with the tide is unknown, but either way, it's trash and doesn't belong on a beach. For those that are wondering, though, the ice cream was delicious.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2014/i-d478KwL/0/XL/2014%2005%2005_0007%20copy-XL.jpg
There's a strong emotion I can feel.

That's not my trash though.

A lovely shot which really gives notice to a problem we are facing nowadays! It's sad how our beaches are being overrun with rubbish. A great message and glad to hear the ice cream was a hit! :)
