When On-Shore is Not Close Enough

First, congrats to all those just passing the half-way mark in this year's 365 Project. You have 182 days to go! Now, for today's photo, I decided to swing by Sabin Point at lunch to see if there was anything photo-worthy happening. I was about to leave when this fisherman waded out into the river. Now, it's very common for fly-fishermen to wade mid-stream, given their style of casting. This guy, however, was fishing for stripers and obviously was not fly-fishing. I've seen surf-fishermen wade out into the surf, but that's only because the fish are typically beyond the surf-line. There's no surf in this spot. Basically, with the water temperature still fairly low this time of year, and with him in shorts, not waders, about the only thing he'll have from his afternoon standing in the river is, well, a cold nether-region. To make it more interesting, I asked around if anyone had caught anything (since there were many more fisherman standing onshore) but the stripers are simply not running up these rivers right now. Moving twenty-feet off shore doesn't change that fact.
Post processing started with a neutral filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, details, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment and a selective dodge were added in PSE.
