It was a typical Wednesday, meaning I had very little time to get out for a photo. The weather was lousy all morning with heavy rain and thunderstorms being the order of the day. It stopped raining by noon, but the threatening skies still kept folks indoors. I was the only one at Haines Point when I arrived for today's photo. What tickled my funny bone, though, was this scene at the neighboring Marina. The boats all appeared to be lined up by size. To make it interesting, though, the tiny dinghies all had the outside berths, whereas the largest cabin cruisers had to navigate through the crowded docks for a marine version of parallel parking. I'm pretty sure the genius that came up with this design paints and repairs boats for a living.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, brightness, and contrast. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2014/i-Gqgnqsb/0/XL/2014%2007%2016_0016%20copy-XL.jpg
busy days always make hard to take photos, but at least we remember, even when it's almost midnight! that looks so calm

Haha, what a great idea and makes for a very well organised photo! Too bad about the miserable weather though, at least it cleared enough for this shot!
